The Palmer-Warner House was built by John and Mehitable (Chapman Richardson) Warner in 1738. Later generations of the Warner family would become blacksmiths, and many of their pieces were collected by Frederic Palmer and can be seen throughout the house today.

A visit to the site includes a behind-the-scenes tour in which guests can learn about the collection of personal diaries and photos used to reconstruct the lives of Frederic and Howard, providing an opportunity for guests to discuss society's impact on the thoughts and actions of the house's former residents.
